In a major move, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has imposed a ban on all provincial government employees from attending or participating in any programs organized by the proscribed Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM). According to an official notification, any direct or indirect involvement with banned organizations, whether physical, financial, or otherwise, will be considered illegal, and strict legal action will be taken against violators.

Simultaneously, the federal government has added PTM leader Manzoor Pashteen along with 44 other individuals to the Fourth Schedule under Section 11EE of the Anti-Terrorism Act. This list includes individuals believed to be associated with terrorist activities.

Commenting on the situation, Barrister Dr. Saif, the provincial information advisor, stated that the government stands firmly with the constitution and the law, and that no leniency will be shown to any proscribed group or its activities.

The federal government had declared PTM a proscribed organization, and KPK’s decision to enforce this ban is being seen as a move to strengthen national security. Dr. Saif further criticized opposition figures for politicizing such sensitive issues, calling out certain members for their silence on the matter.
