KP CM Sohaib Afridi Accuses Federal Government of Rs 5.3 Trillion Corruption at UET Peshawar Job Fair 2025
Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Muhammad Sohaib Afridi, made serious allegations against the federal government while addressing the Job Fair 2025 at the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Peshawar, where he served as the chief guest. Afridi claimed that the federal government has committed corruption worth Rs 5,300 billion, asserting that “none of them brought money from their homes—this is the public’s tax money, and they are using it to buy islands abroad.”
Afridi urged the people of Pakistan to question their rulers and hold them accountable for the misuse of national wealth.
Highlighting the success of the job fair, the chief minister announced that over 2,000 students have now been formally registered with employers. He added that the government is launching a Talent Hunt Program and a new Internship Policy to support youth employment. “We will not leave our young people alone,” he said.
Addressing students from the Insaf Students Federation (ISF), Afridi advised them to save their energy for the extensive future work ahead. He emphasized the importance of using Urdu as the primary language in upcoming programs so that people across the province know what is happening. He also appreciated the growing participation of female students in engineering. “My sisters in engineering—do not worry. I stand with you,” he affirmed.
Speaking about the upcoming NFC Award scheduled for December 4, Afridi stated that he would raise the issue of the merged districts’ share. He said the former FATA areas were merged into KP seven years ago, yet the province still hasn’t received its due share. According to him, KP is entitled to 14.6 percent, which equals nearly 19 percent annually.
He claimed that the merged districts’ rightful share is around Rs 350 billion—amounting to nearly Rs 400 billion yearly—which has not been provided to KP. He instructed universities across the province to hold seminars on Monday to spread awareness about this constitutional right.
Afridi also criticized the imprisonment of the PTI Chairman, saying he has been jailed unjustly. He added that cases were filed even against Al-Qadir University, where the teachings of the Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH) are part of the curriculum. “Everyone is silent, and the media is silent. But I will stand for your rights till my last drop of blood,” he vowed.
