Kohistan Financial Scandal: Plea Bargain Requests Filed in Rs 40 Billion Case

A major development has emerged in the Kohistan financial scandal. According to NAB sources, Head Clerk Qaiser of the C&W Department and three benamidars have submitted plea bargain requests in the accountability court.

The benamidars include Qaiser’s wife and two others. The accused stated they are willing to repay the outstanding amount.

NAB has begun verification of the assets and liabilities of the accused. The plea bargain will only proceed after the approval of the NAB Chairman.

The Kohistan scandal involved embezzlement of Rs 40 billion withdrawn under the guise of development schemes that did not exist on the ground. Qaiser allegedly accumulated billions worth of movable and immovable assets under his own and relatives’ names.
