Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Suffers Heat and Power Cuts, Babak Criticizes Govt Inaction

As temperatures soar across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, prolonged and unannounced power outages have added to public misery. Sardar Hussain Babak, senior leader of the Awami National Party (ANP), has openly criticized the provincial government’s failure to manage the crisis.
“Despite the extreme heat, outdated and weak transmission lines are unable to handle the load, yet the KP government remains a silent spectator,” Babak said in a strongly worded statement.
He further criticized federal lawmakers from the province, accusing them of inaction. “Our MNAs do not have the courage to raise this issue with the federal government. Their politics now revolves around ‘release our leader’ and planning the next Islamabad march.”
Citizens across KP, from urban centers like Peshawar to rural districts, are facing up to 14 hours of load shedding daily. There are growing protests, but the authorities remain unmoved.
Experts have warned that the power infrastructure in the province needs urgent upgrades and that political distractions are costing ordinary citizens their peace and health.
