Karachi Independence Day Turns Tragic, 3 Dead, 84 Injured in Aerial Firing

Independence Day celebrations in various parts of Karachi took a tragic turn when aerial firing claimed the lives of three people, including 8-year-old Marha, and injured 84 others, among them women and children.
Rescue officials reported that Marha, a first-grade student, was standing by a window when a stray bullet struck her in the head. Two other individuals were killed in separate firing incidents in Korangi and Lyari’s Agra Taj area.
The injured were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed, Civil, and Jinnah hospitals. Police launched operations in multiple areas, arresting 57 suspects and seizing as many weapons. Cases have been registered under attempted murder charges. Sindh IG Ghulam Nabi Memon condemned the incidents, urging citizens to avoid aerial firing during celebrations.
