Bollywood star and BJP Member of Parliament Kangana Ranaut is facing serious death threats from Sikh extremist groups in the lead-up to the release of her highly anticipated film ‘Emergency.’ The film, in which Ranaut portrays the role of former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, has stirred controversy following the release of its trailer on social media.

The threats reportedly began after a video surfaced on social media, featuring a man identified as Vicky Thomas Singh, who mentioned the assassination of Indira Gandhi. Singh warned that if the film portrays the late Khalistani militant leader Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale as a terrorist, the makers should remember what happened to Indira Gandhi, the character being portrayed by Ranaut. The menacing video also contained statements implying that those who can offer their heads can also cut them off.

Ranaut, who represents Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi district in the Indian Parliament, took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to share the video and appealed for police protection. The incident has sparked significant concern, leading to increased security measures around the actress.
