Justice Mansoor Ali Shah Advocates for Child Courts in Pakistan

Senior puisne judge of the Supreme Court, Justice Mansoor Ali Shah, stressed the urgent need for establishing child courts across Pakistan to address issues such as child labor and trafficking. Speaking at a ceremony in Islamabad on Saturday, Justice Shah highlighted the significance of child justice, calling children the “present and future” of the country.

“Cases involving children must be expedited, and we must ensure their voices are heard when making decisions affecting their lives,” he stated.

Justice Shah emphasized that creating child courts is not a difficult task and underscored the importance of adhering to international laws designed to protect children. He further pointed out the necessity of prioritizing children’s health and education, with special attention to the needs of children with disabilities.

“Every effort should be made to protect and nurture our children,” Justice Shah concluded, reiterating his commitment to fostering a brighter future for Pakistan’s youth.
