JUI Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman Supports Nationwide Traders’ Strike on August 28

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has thrown his weight behind the nationwide strike planned by traders for August 28. The announcement came as Rehman expressed his deep concern over the escalating inflation and what he termed as unjust taxes imposed on the public.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman did not hold back in his criticism of the current economic situation, directly accusing the IMF-directed budget of depriving ordinary citizens of their livelihoods. According to him, the budgetary measures have pushed people to the brink, making it increasingly difficult for them to sustain their families.
In his statement, Rehman called upon JUI workers across the country to support the peaceful strike, urging them to join hands with traders in this protest against the government’s economic policies. He also directed JUI’s business forums to actively participate in the strike, ensuring a strong presence in the demonstrations.
