During a recent interview, when asked if she would ever consider moving to Karachi, Saba Qamar replied with a surprised “Astaghfirullah!”

The clip went viral instantly, with many users calling her comment “anti-Karachi” and accusing her of looking down upon the city.

Amid the controversy, fellow actress and TV host Javeria Saud spoke up, responding to actress Iffat Omar’s post and saying:

“Karachi isn’t dirty — people’s mindset is! Those who insult Karachi are actually speaking against their own country.”

Javeria added that portraying a megacity like Karachi in a negative light is unfair and that people should work on improving their attitudes instead of blaming the city.
