Japan and Australia Lead the Way in Paris Olympics 2024 Medal Tally
On the second day of the Paris Olympics 2024, the competition for gold intensified with 13 more gold medals awarded. Japan and Australia have emerged as front-runners, each securing four gold medals, placing them at the top of the points table.
Japan’s athletes have clinched a total of seven medals: four gold, two silver, and one bronze. Australia, matching Japan’s gold count, has garnered a total of six medals, including two bronze. While Japan and Australia lead the gold medal tally, the USA boasts the highest overall medal count with 12 medals, comprising three gold, three bronze, and six silver.
Host nation France has collected eight medals so far, including three gold, three silver, and two bronze. Other notable performances include Korea with six medals (three gold, two silver, one bronze) and China with six medals as well (three gold, one silver, two bronze). Italy has also made a strong showing with six medals: one gold, two silver, and three bronze. Kazakhstan and Belgium have each won a gold and additional medals, showcasing their competitiveness.
Germany, Hong Kong, and Uzbekistan have each secured a gold medal. Great Britain has won four medals (two silver, two bronze), Brazil three medals (one silver, two bronze), and Canada two medals (one silver, one bronze).
