Israel has agreed to restart ceasefire negotiations with Gaza, as confirmed by a statement from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office. The decision comes after calls from mediators in the United States, Qatar, and Egypt to resume discussions aimed at bringing peace to the region.

According to Arab media reports, the talks are set to recommence on August 15, with the location likely to be either Doha or Cairo. The negotiations will focus on finalizing the framework agreement proposed by U.S. President Joe Biden in late May, which was originally suggested by Israel.

A joint statement from the leaders of the U.S., Qatar, and Egypt invited the conflicting parties to engage in dialogue without further delay. The statement emphasized that a framework agreement is already on the table, with only the implementation details remaining to be agreed upon.

Following this invitation, Netanyahu’s office announced that Israel would send a negotiating team to the designated location on August 15 to complete the final details of the agreement.

This development marks a significant step forward in the ongoing efforts to establish a lasting peace in Gaza, with international mediators playing a crucial role in bringing both sides back to the negotiating table.
