In a chilling incident that has shocked India, a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) constable, Dilip Dangchia, strangled his colleague, Assistant Sub-Inspector Aruna Ben Netubai, to death in Kutch district, Gujarat.

According to the police, the two had been in contact since 2021 via Instagram and had been living together. A heated argument turned deadly when Dilip lost control and killed Aruna. He later surrendered himself at the police station.

This horrifying event exposes the dark truth behind the Indian government’s “Beti Bachao” slogan — a narrative that now rings hollow in the face of rising crimes against women in hospitals, buses, offices, and now police stations.

CRPF personnel, emotionally scarred from years of deployment in conflict zones like Manipur and Kashmir, appear to be turning into a threat not just in war zones but within the very society they are meant to protect.
