International Conference in Lahore Highlights Business Risks and Solutions
An international conference titled “The Emerging Risks Conference (IRC 2024)” took place in Lahore, addressing the growing challenges in the business sector. Organized by Marsh and the Centre for Enterprise Risk Management, the event gathered experts from various fields, including health, energy, and technology.
Engro Group Chairman Hussain Dawood highlighted that open and honest communication among business leaders could significantly lower risks associated with operations. Atlas Honda CEO Saquib Shirazi shared insights on the impact of inflation, linking it to the dollar shortage and the rising current account deficit. He advised the government to manage growth patiently, warning against excessive printing of money and raising interest rates, which could exacerbate debt.
Moreover, Marsh Group head Alexander Moczarski emphasized the importance of addressing emerging global market challenges and praised the caliber of participants and speakers at the conference. The event featured three panel discussions focused on diverse business sector risks, fostering dialogue on risk mitigation strategies.
