Initial Report on Bajaur Blast Released: ISIS, TTP Under Suspicion
An initial investigation report on the deadly bombing in Khar, Bajaur district, has been prepared by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD). According to the report, remains of a motorcycle, explosive materials, blood samples, and IED fragments found at the site suggest the blast was caused using a remote-controlled or timer device.
The CTD notes that Amaq News Agency, linked to ISIS, has claimed responsibility for the attack. Additionally, social media accounts associated with Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) have also claimed involvement. Authorities suspect a possible collaboration between the two groups or a competition to take credit for the attack.
CTD has identified seven suspected terrorists involved in the incident, and operations are underway for their arrest. According to Peshawar police, a case has been registered at the CTD police station.
The FIR states the explosion occurred while the Assistant Commissioner was conducting an anti-encroachment operation on Naugai Road. Tragically, the blast killed four individuals, including the AC. Rescue teams rushed to the scene to aid the injured.
