In an inspiring twist of fate, an Indian teacher has surpassed Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan in wealth — proving that education and technology can outshine even stardom.
According to Indian media reports, Alakh Pandey, the founder of the EdTech company Physics Wallah, has made it to the Hurun India Rich List 2025. His net worth has surged by an astonishing 223%, reaching ₹14,510 crore.
In comparison, Shah Rukh Khan’s wealth has been recorded at ₹12,490 crore this year. Pandey’s journey began in 2016 when he started teaching on YouTube — today, he leads one of India’s most valuable EdTech companies.
Interestingly, Shah Rukh Khan has also entered the billionaire club for the first time, with his wealth now estimated at $1.4 billion after a 71% increase from last year.
The Hurun India report reveals that India added 58 new billionaires this year, with the EdTech sector emerging as a surprising powerhouse. Alakh Pandey’s success story stands as a shining example that knowledge, innovation, and perseverance can change destinies — even beyond the glamour of Bollywood.
