In a striking statement made from Adiala Jail, Imran Khan, the leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has declared that Pakistan is experiencing a severe form of martial law, claiming it is harsher than the regimes of former leaders Zia-ul-Haq and Pervez Musharraf. Khan expressed his concerns in an informal conversation with journalists, emphasizing that the nation has transformed into a “police state.”

He accused the current Chief Election Commissioner, Qazi Faez Isa, of being complicit in a fraud against the nation, stating that the recent decisions regarding reserved seats have exposed the biases within the electoral system. Khan asserted that Isa’s actions reflect a conflict of interest, alleging that he is working in collusion with the ruling powers to ensure they maintain control and expand their influence.

Khan highlighted that during the Musharraf era, political gatherings were allowed, unlike the current climate, where opposition voices are silenced. He criticized the political and judicial processes, claiming that measures are being taken to undermine PTI’s representation in government.

The PTI leader has called for a protest against these injustices, scheduled for Thursday, urging his supporters to stand against what he describes as a systematic attempt to manipulate the political landscape of Pakistan.
