The International Film Festival of India (IFFI) is set to pay homage to four cinematic icons on their 100th birth anniversaries, celebrating actor-director Raj Kapoor, celebrated filmmaker Tapan Sinha, Telugu cinema star Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR), and the legendary singer Mohammed Rafi. Each tribute will feature a restored classic that has been meticulously brought back to its original visual quality by the National Film Development Corporation and the National Film Archive of India.

Festival-goers can look forward to screening of Kapoor’s Awaara, Sinha’s Harmonium, ANR’s Devadasu, and Rafi’s Hum Dono, with dedicated celebration days for each artist. ANR will be honored on November 22, Raj Kapoor on November 24, Mohammed Rafi on November 26, and Tapan Sinha on November 27.

The IFFI tribute also extends to a curated exhibition displaying rare memorabilia and photographs, providing a glimpse into the timeless appeal and impact of these legends on Indian cinema. To add a unique artistic touch, renowned artist Sudarshan Pattnaik will create a sand art installation at the Kala Academy in Goa.

With panel discussions and participation from family members and industry veterans, the event promises to be a heartfelt celebration of the legacies that have shaped generations of Indian cinema lovers.
