Harry and William Maintain Distance at Uncle’s Funeral Amid Deepening Rift
Princes Harry and William attended the funeral of their uncle, Lord Robert Fellowes, at St Mary’s Church in Snettisham, Norfolk, on August 28. However, despite the solemn occasion, the brothers reportedly avoided any interaction, underscoring the deepening rift between them.
According to sources, both Harry, 39, and William, 42, sat at the back of the church but did not sit near one another. “They arrived very discreetly,” said an attendee, adding that their presence was only noticed after the service had concluded.
The tension between the Duke of Sussex and the Prince of Wales has been widely reported, with insiders claiming that Harry’s attempts to reconcile through calls and messages have been ignored by his elder brother. The rift, described as “very bad” by royal insiders, is not seen as irreparable, but moments like these continue to highlight the strained relationship.
The funeral marked a rare public appearance of the two brothers together since the publication of Harry’s memoir and his move to the United States. The gathering was a private affair for family members, commemorating the life of Lord Fellowes, who was a close relative through their late mother, Princess Diana.
