Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh has expressed strong disapproval over the comparison between Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Mohammad Rizwan. The debate was ignited on social media when a Pakistani journalist posted images of both players and posed the question of who is superior.

Harbhajan Singh, known for his outspoken nature, took to Twitter to voice his frustration. In his response, Singh questioned the intent behind the comparison, asking, “What kind of cigarette are you smoking these days?” He dismissed the comparison as “foolish” and emphasized that Dhoni is far ahead of Rizwan. Singh asserted, “Even Rizwan would agree that Dhoni is ahead of him. This question is wrong; there is no one better than Dhoni in world cricket today.”

This response from Harbhajan comes after a previous incident where he faced criticism for his dismissive attitude towards a comparison between Babar Azam and Brian Lara.

For context, Dhoni has amassed impressive statistics over his career, including 256 catches and 38 stumpings in 90 Test matches, and 321 catches and 123 stumpings in 350 One Day Internationals. In comparison, Rizwan has taken 78 catches and made 3 stumpings in 30 Tests, and 76 catches and 3 stumpings in 74 ODIs. Dhoni also boasts a Test average of 38.09 with 4876 runs, including 6 centuries and 33 half-centuries, while Rizwan has scored 1616 runs in Tests at an average of 40.4, with 2 centuries and 9 half-centuries.
