Hamas Hands Over Another Israeli Hostage’s Body to Red Cross
The Palestinian group Hamas has handed over the body of another Israeli hostage to representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Gaza, according to reports from regional media outlets.
The body was subsequently transferred by the Red Cross to Israeli authorities, who moved it under police supervision to the Abu Kabir Forensic Institute in Tel Aviv. The identification process is expected to take up to two days, the Israeli military confirmed.
Israeli media reports state that Hamas has so far returned the bodies of 13 hostages, while 15 others remain in its possession. Israeli officials have renewed calls for Hamas to return all remaining bodies without delay.
Earlier, foreign media outlets suggested that several hostages held by Hamas may have died during Israeli airstrikes, raising new concerns about the ongoing humanitarian and military situation in Gaza.
The exchange highlights the fragile and tense dynamics between Hamas and Israel amid continuing diplomatic pressure for a ceasefire and the return of all hostages.
