Hamas Denies Reports of Agreeing to Surrender Under Trump’s Gaza Peace Plan

The Palestinian resistance group Hamas has categorically denied reports that it agreed to surrender as part of U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposed Gaza peace plan.

In an official statement, Hamas called such reports “politically misleading and false propaganda” aimed at weakening the group’s standing in the region.

According to Russia’s TASS news agency, senior Hamas official Mahmoud Mardawi stated on October 5 that the group has neither discussed any ceasefire nor held talks about surrendering its weapons.

These denials come as the Trump administration reportedly dispatched Jared Kushner and Middle East envoy Steve Worcoff to Egypt to facilitate preliminary discussions on the Gaza peace initiative.

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump warned that Hamas would face “total destruction” if it refuses to relinquish power in Gaza.

Analysts believe this rhetoric could further escalate tensions in the already fragile region, potentially undermining the peace plan even before talks have formally begun.
