Govt Issues List of 113 Certified Umrah Companies to Protect Pilgrims from Fraud

In a significant step to safeguard pilgrims, the federal government has released an official list of certified Umrah companies for the Islamic year 1447 Hijri.
According to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, a total of 113 Umrah operators have been approved and listed on the ministry’s official website, where pilgrims can easily verify company details before making travel arrangements.
The ministry has advised pilgrims to ensure all payments are made directly into the certified company’s official bank account. Additionally, pilgrims must demand a payment receipt along with a copy of the formal agreement to avoid any fraudulent practices.
Officials said this initiative aims to reduce the risk of exploitation by unauthorized agents and to provide safe, transparent options for Pakistanis performing Umrah.
