Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori has formally requested the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) to impose a ban on dance, singing, and related entertainment programs during the sacred month of Rabiul Awal. In a letter to PEMRA, the governor emphasized the importance of airing programs centered on the teachings and life of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) during this month, as these are essential for the moral and spiritual development of the youth.

Governor Tessori also disclosed that he had written to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, requesting two public holidays on the 11th and 12th of Rabiul Awal. This would allow citizens to celebrate Eid Milad-un-Nabi with full religious fervor.
