Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has escalated political tensions in the province by declaring the provincial government a failure and calling on Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur to seek a vote of confidence. Speaking to the media in Peshawar, Governor Kundi highlighted the government’s failure to appoint vice chancellors in universities, pointing out that the courts had rejected the government’s authority in this matter.

Governor Kundi stressed the urgency of appointing vice chancellors to secure the future of the province’s youth, noting that 26 universities are currently without leadership. He also raised concerns over the potential sale of university land, vowing that no such sales would occur during his tenure.

In addition, the governor criticized the suspension of assembly sessions, which have been postponed four times, suggesting that the chief minister may be avoiding sessions due to a lack of confidence among assembly members. Kundi urged Gandapur to seek a vote of confidence, asserting that the chief minister no longer holds a majority.

Regarding proposed cabinet changes, Governor Kundi stated that he is not in a hurry to sign the summary and has yet to consult legal experts. He questioned the reasons behind the frequent cabinet reshuffles, comparing the situation to a football match, and demanded accountability for corrupt and incompetent cabinet members.
