PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has strongly condemned the recent sentencing of party leaders in the May 9 cases, calling it a “dark day for democracy” and alleging it as a blatant case of political victimization.

Speaking to the media, Gohar stated:

He emphasized that PTI has always worked to strengthen parliament and integrate into the system, yet is being punished for doing so.
“Our leaders are behind bars for no reason. We’ve conveyed our concerns to the Chief Justice directly and demand justice.”

Gohar clarified that PTI has never supported violence or chaos, preferring reconciliation and dialogue. He cited the PTI founder’s repeated offers for talks even after the alleged electoral injustice.

Warning of growing public disillusionment, he said:

He concluded by hinting that PTI will soon announce whether to remain part of the political system and what its next course of action will be.
