Fuel Prices in Pakistan Expected to Drop from February 16

Pakistan is set to experience a notable decline in fuel prices, providing much-needed relief to the public. According to a fortnightly review of petroleum prices, the price of petrol is expected to drop by Rs2.49 per litre, bringing it down to Rs254.64 from Rs257.13.
The biggest reduction is anticipated in high-speed diesel (HSD), which may see a Rs10 per litre decrease, bringing its price down from Rs267.95 to Rs257.95. Additionally, kerosene oil and light diesel oil (LDO) are likely to see price cuts of Rs3.45 and Rs5.60 per litre, respectively.
These price adjustments are linked to international fuel market trends, existing petroleum levies, a stable exchange rate, and government taxation policies. If confirmed, these reductions will offer financial relief to consumers, especially those in transportation and agricultural sectors, where diesel consumption is highest.
The final decision will be announced soon, and if implemented, the new fuel prices will come into effect from February 16.
