Four Rangers Martyred in PTI Protest; Uzma Bukhari Points Fingers at Bushra Bibi
At least four Rangers personnel were martyred, and five others critically injured when a vehicle rammed into them on Islamabad’s Srinagar Highway during Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) protest march towards D-Chowk in the early hours of Tuesday. The Rangers were deployed to maintain law and order amidst escalating tensions.
Punjab Information Minister Uzma Bokhari, in a press conference in Lahore, confirmed the tragic incident and criticized PTI leadership, holding Bushra Bibi responsible for inciting violence. She further claimed that PTI aims to create a repeat of the May 9 unrest and accused the party of engaging in “politics over dead bodies.”
Bokhari also highlighted the death of Constable Mubashir and critical injuries to Constable Wajid in other protest-related violence. According to reports, 70 law enforcement officials have been injured, with 45 in critical condition.
The PTI leadership has yet to comment on the accusations, as the situation remains tense with ongoing protests and heightened security measures.
