In Hafizabad’s flood-hit area of Behak Ahmad Yar, two people lost their lives — one due to a snake bite and another swept away by floodwaters. More than 10 cattle also perished, while a dozen villages remain cut off from the city.

In Sambriyal’s Majra Kalan, six people, including five members of the same family, were swept away in floodwaters. Rescue teams recovered the bodies of a woman and her daughter, but two children and a man named Imran are still missing. Another man, Shani, went missing after he went to bring relatives from a nearby dera. Officials confirmed that the overflow of the Chenab River has inundated over 50 villages. While around 110 stranded people have been rescued, authorities warn that rising water levels continue to endanger residents.

Meanwhile, in Sohawa’s Domeli area, a house roof collapsed, injuring three people including two children and an elderly man. The injured, identified as Kamran, Abdullah Kamran, and Ahiza Noor, were shifted to the Rural Health Centre Domeli for medical treatment.

Authorities have urged residents to remain cautious as rescue operations continue amid worsening flood conditions.
