In a significant move to curb smuggling activities across Pakistan, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has officially launched the Customs Command Fund. According to the notification issued by the FBR, this initiative aims to intensify anti-smuggling operations and enhance field performance through monetary incentives.

As per the details, individuals who provide credible and actionable information regarding smuggled goods will now be eligible for advance payments, with potential compensation going up to Rs 500,000. The move is seen as a strategic incentive to encourage public participation in the fight against smuggling.

In addition to whistleblower rewards, the fund will also be used to cover the operational costs of anti-smuggling efforts and to provide special incentives and rewards to customs officials who successfully carry out such operations. The FBR believes this fund will boost morale and improve the efficiency of enforcement teams.

The fund reflects a broader effort by the government to tighten border control, reduce illicit trade, and protect the national economy from the losses caused by smuggling.
