In a major development for Bangladesh’s digital connectivity, Elon Musk, owner of Starlink and head of the US Department of Government Efficiency, has signaled his commitment to launching Starlink in Bangladesh.

This announcement came after a high-level meeting between Musk and Bangladesh’s Chief Adviser, Prof. Muhammad Yunus, which was shared publicly on X. Prof. Yunus tweeted, “Had a great meeting with Mr. @elonmusk. We agreed to work together and hope to launch Starlink in Bangladesh soon.” To which Musk replied, “Looking forward to it!”

A statement from the Chief Adviser’s Press Wing confirmed that the discussions revolved around expanding Starlink’s coverage to remote and underserved areas, ensuring better internet access for youth, rural communities, and women.

During the meeting, Prof. Yunus extended an invitation to Elon Musk to visit Bangladesh for the official launch, a proposal Musk responded to positively. With Starlink’s entry, Bangladesh is set to experience a major transformation in digital accessibility.
