Education Ministry to Transition 100 Schools to Solar Power in Islamabad

The Ministry of Federal Education has decided to transition 100 primary schools in Islamabad to solar power within the next two months. According to a press release, this initiative is part of efforts to reduce electricity costs and lower carbon impacts in the federal capital. The solar panels will be installed on the rooftops of the selected schools, providing a clean and sustainable energy source while saving the Ministry millions in annual electricity bills, which will be redirected towards improving educational facilities.

Additionally, the government has announced that no new duties will be imposed on solar panels for the general public. In a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, it was stated that the government aims to make affordable and renewable solar energy accessible to all citizens. The focus is on enhancing economic stability, boosting small and medium-sized industries, and ensuring equal economic opportunities for the general population.
