DIG Sajjad Khan Holds Key Security Dialogue with Local Peace Committees in Bannu

Regional Police Officer (RPO) Bannu, DIG Sajjad Khan, chaired a significant meeting at the DIG Office, bringing together key peace committees from Kaki Qaumi Ittehad, Khujri, and Bhurt tribes. A large number of local elders and community leaders attended the session.

The main agenda was to evaluate the current law and order situation in the region and devise a joint strategy to address emerging security issues. The meeting also revisited recent incidents and included a thorough exchange of views from local representatives.

Tribal elders emphasized the urgent need for prompt action to resolve public issues and recommended monthly follow-up meetings to ensure consistent engagement between the police and local peace committees.

DIG Sajjad Khan lauded the active role of local communities in maintaining peace and stressed that public cooperation through community policing was yielding fruitful outcomes. He reaffirmed that restoring public trust and eradicating terrorism from Bannu remains the top priority.

He added, “With joint efforts and continued dialogue, we are moving closer to lasting peace in the region. All available resources will be used to ensure a terrorism-free Bannu.”
