Despite Corruption Charges, Dr. Amir Israr Appointed as MS of DHQ Abbottabad
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department has stirred controversy by appointing Dr. Amir Israr as the Medical Superintendent (MS) of DHQ Hospital Abbottabad, despite confirmed corruption allegations dating back over a decade.
According to official documents, a departmental inquiry concluded 13 years ago found Dr. Israr guilty of financial misconduct and recommended disciplinary action, which was never implemented.
The appointment has sparked outrage among medical associations and hospital staff, who have labeled it illegal and demanded a reversal. Reports suggest that the matter has also been raised with the Anti-Corruption Department and even the Corps Commander in Peshawar through formal letters, especially regarding alleged misuse of Sehat Card funds.
