Dengue Cases in Rawalpindi Surge to 570, Thousands of Hotspots Found

The dengue situation in Rawalpindi has worsened, with the total number of reported patients reaching 570. According to official data, 25 new cases were reported in government hospitals and 52 in private hospitals during the last 24 hours. Private hospitals alone have recorded 550 cases so far.

District health authorities said that 1,499 anti-dengue teams are working across the region. Strict action has been taken against negligence, with 132 workers dismissed over poor reporting and absenteeism.

Out of more than 5.2 million houses checked, larvae were found in 149,878 homes, while 1.3 million hotspot inspections revealed 19,917 breeding sites. Authorities have filed 4,154 cases, sealed 1,759 properties, issued 3,374 challans, and imposed fines worth Rs. 13.5 million.

Medical experts have warned that dengue transmission will likely peak by November 15, urging strict preventive measures as hospitals increase dengue-dedicated beds.
