At least five police personnel, including Additional SHO Qaiser Hussain, were martyred and several others injured in a series of terrorist attacks across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday.

In Parachinar, Additional SHO of Wozha Police Station was martyred when armed men opened fire during a raid to arrest a suspect in the Kurram sectarian violence case.

In Bannu, militants from the group “Fitna al-Khawarij” attacked the Mazangah police checkpoint, prompting immediate retaliation from police, forcing the attackers to flee.

In Dir’s Panah Kot area, unidentified gunmen ambushed a Quick Response Force mobile returning from patrol around 2 a.m., killing three policemen on the spot and injuring six. According to DPO Syed Bilal, the attackers fired from a concealed position. The injured and deceased were shifted to DHQ Hospital, and security forces launched a search operation.

In Peshawar’s suburbs, terrorists targeted two police check-posts and a police station. Police repelled attacks on the Matni Adezai and Nasir Bagh Sakhi Pul check-posts, but in Hassan Khel, one policeman was martyred and another injured.

Separately in Khyber district, two bomb blasts occurred—one damaging the wall of Landi Kotal DSP’s sub-office and another near a house in Goonji Kallay, causing partial property damage but no casualties.

Security operations are ongoing to track down the perpetrators.
