COAS General Asim Munir Stresses Global Challenges and Pakistan’s Role in Peace

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir, NI(M), delivered a keynote speech at the prestigious Margalla Dialogue 2024, organized by the Islamabad Policy Research Institute (IPRI).

Addressing the theme “Pakistan’s Role in Peace and Stability,” the Army Chief emphasized the increasing global challenges, including the spread of misinformation, the rise of non-state actors, and state-sponsored terrorism. He highlighted the profound technological, economic, and military transformations reshaping the global order.

General Munir underlined the destabilizing effects of unregulated information dissemination and hate speech on political and social structures. He also warned against the moral decline caused by unchecked freedom of expression, stressing the need for robust laws to combat fake news and promote harmony.

The Army Chief reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to regional and international peace, urging unity and collaboration to tackle the emerging global threats.
