COAS Gen Asim Munir Reaffirms Pakistan’s Defense Commitment at Azadi Parade

On the occasion of Pakistan’s Independence Day, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir delivered a resolute address at the Azadi Parade held at the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) in Kakul. He reaffirmed the army’s unwavering commitment to safeguard the nation against any internal and external threats, emphasizing that Pakistan is prepared to respond decisively to any form of aggression.

Gen Munir highlighted the mutual trust between the people and the armed forces, noting that this bond has consistently helped the nation overcome challenges. He warned against disunity and internal fragmentation, which could jeopardize national stability and open the door to external threats.

In his speech, Gen Munir lauded Pakistan’s strategic importance and potential, attributing the nation’s future success to its abundant resources and the determination of its people, particularly its youth. He also praised the Pakistan Army and law enforcement agencies for their effective counter-terrorism efforts and acknowledged the bravery of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in combating extremism.

Addressing the situation in Balochistan, the COAS emphasized the need for continued support to ensure the province’s stability and development. He also expressed gratitude to allied nations, including China, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, and Turkiye, for their unwavering support to Pakistan.

In his concluding remarks, General Munir paid tribute to the sacrifices made for Pakistan’s freedom and reiterated support for the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir in their quest for self-determination. He condemned the ongoing atrocities in Gaza and commended the Pakistani government’s efforts for a peaceful resolution to the conflict. The COAS concluded by applauding the dedication of the cadets at the PMA, expressing confidence in Pakistan’s bright and secure future.
