CM Maryam Nawaz Takes a Major Step for Special Education, While KP CM Gandapur Focuses on Political Protests
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has taken a significant step towards improving special education in Pakistan by laying the foundation for the country’s first government autism school. The school, which will be completed within a year, aims to provide specialized education and therapy for autistic children. It will feature state-of-the-art facilities, including therapy rooms, pre-vocational training, and daily living activity spaces. CM Maryam has emphasized the importance of recruiting autism experts to ensure the best care for these children, stating that the project is “very close to her heart.”
On the other hand, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur is focusing on leading protests in Islamabad. Despite the looming threat of arrest, Gandapur vowed to push forward, urging PTI workers to gather for their ‘Haqeeqi Azadi’ protest. His attention remains on political activism rather than governance, with the Peshawar High Court recently granting him transitory bail in two cases.
While Punjab is moving forward in creating opportunities for autistic children, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s leadership appears more concerned with political gains and protest movements. This stark contrast highlights the different priorities of the two provincial governments.
