CM Maryam Nawaz Orders Immediate Launch of ‘Suthra Punjab Program’ Across Province
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has taken decisive action to address cleanliness issues across Punjab by ordering the immediate launch of the ‘Suthra Punjab Program’. This initiative aims to ensure that all areas, both urban and rural, are cleaned uniformly and comprehensively.
In her recent directive, Maryam Nawaz Sharif emphasized that there should be no negligence in cleaning drains and that every city, regardless of size, must be thoroughly cleaned. She expressed concerns over the unsatisfactory cleanliness situation in major cities, including Lahore and Sargodha.
The decision was made during a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, where she received a briefing on the ‘Suthra Punjab Program’ and discussed the outsourcing of solid waste management services. This program is expected to address existing cleanliness challenges and improve the overall sanitary conditions in the province.
In related news, earlier in March, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif had approved the launch of a metro bus project in three cities of Punjab. The approval came during a meeting in Lahore, attended by PML-N supremo Muhammad Nawaz Sharif. The meeting also reviewed various transport sector projects and discussed plans for an underground train project in Lahore. Nawaz Sharif also directed an increase in the number of bikes available for students and suggested keeping the monthly installment for the bikes at a minimal level to support student mobility.
The ‘Suthra Punjab Program’ marks a significant step towards enhancing public health and urban infrastructure, reflecting the government’s commitment to improving living conditions across the province.
