Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa Nominates Three Judges for Next CJP
In a significant move, Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa has forwarded the names of three senior-most judges to the committee responsible for selecting the next Chief Justice of Pakistan. This decision came after the Ministry of Law sent an official letter to the Supreme Court Registrar, requesting recommendations for the top judicial position.
The names submitted by Chief Justice Isa include Justice Mansoor Ali Shah, Justice Munib Akhtar, and Justice Yahya Afridi, all of whom are highly respected figures in the legal fraternity. These recommendations have been made in accordance with the constitutional provisions laid out under the 26th amendment.
The final selection of the new Chief Justice will be made after careful deliberation by the committee, ensuring that Pakistan’s judicial system continues to be led by capable and experienced judges.
