Business Leaders Meet Field Marshal Asim Munir to Propose Economic Reforms and Industrial Ease
Field Marshal General Asim Munir held an important meeting with top business leaders of the country, led by former caretaker federal minister Gohar Ejaz. The meeting addressed key economic concerns, investment climate, inflation-linked interest rates, and the need for bold reforms.
Participants included APTMA Chairman Kamran Arshad, SM Tanveer, and presidents of FPCCI and Lahore Chamber of Commerce.
Gohar Ejaz emphasized that the business community supports the government’s economic policies but urged for greater ease of doing business and timely reforms. He called for a reduction in interest rates aligned with inflation, to stimulate industrial and export activity.
He further highlighted concerns regarding the federal budget and called on the government to fulfill its promises for strengthening the export-based economy. Special attention was also demanded for the cotton sector and farmers, urging the need to uplift the agricultural economy alongside the industrial sector.
The meeting concluded with mutual consensus on fast-tracking economic reforms and building confidence among stakeholders to achieve sustainable economic stability.
