At a ceremony celebrating the Benazir Scholarships Program, Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti delivered a powerful speech, addressing the growing discontent among the province’s youth due to bad governance. Bugti congratulated the scholarship recipients, underscoring the importance of education in uplifting Balochistan’s youth.

He commended the provincial chief secretary’s role in the successful implementation of the scholarship initiative, which aims to educate and motivate deserving students from remote areas, including minorities and transgender individuals. Bugti emphasized that these scholarships are designed to promote inclusivity and provide equal opportunities to all.

Acknowledging the challenges faced by the youth in Quetta and beyond, Bugti pledged to focus on skill development and job creation, though he admitted that the government cannot provide employment for everyone. He urged the disillusioned youth to remain patient and not turn against the state due to frustrations with governance, promising that jobs would be awarded on merit, based on academic performance.

Bugti also addressed the dangers of social media misuse, condemning its role in inciting violence and destabilizing the country. He highlighted the case of a law student lured into becoming a suicide bomber through online influences, stressing the need for vigilance.
