Suga, a member of the globally renowned K-pop group BTS, has publicly apologized after being fined for driving an electric scooter while under the influence of alcohol. The 31-year-old rapper took to social media to express his regret and apologize to his fans for the disappointing news.

In his post, Suga detailed the incident, explaining that he had violated the road traffic act by driving home in Seoul while intoxicated. He admitted to forgetting that operating an electric scooter under the influence is prohibited. He recounted, “I fell while parking the electric scooter in front of my house, and there was a police officer nearby. I was given a breathalyzer test and subsequently had my license revoked and was fined.”

South Korea’s Yonhap news agency reported that his blood alcohol level was 0.08%, leading to the revocation of his license. Suga emphasized that, although no one was harmed and no property was damaged, he takes full responsibility for his actions. “This is entirely my responsibility with no excuses,” he stated. “I apologize to those who have been hurt by my carelessness and wrongful behavior, and I will ensure that this does not happen again in the future.”

Currently, BTS is on hiatus as its members fulfill their mandatory military service. Suga’s apology highlights his commitment to making amends and preventing such incidents in the future.
