I read this book about four years ago; although it was a long story but got me so interested in the story that I finished it on the very first. It’s about Robinson Crusoe, born in the north of England. A man had a great interest in ships and sea. He quickly learned about voyages and sailing.

His troubles begin when he agrees to go with his friend, to West Africa to some business through ocean. Everything goes smoothly until their ship faces a severe storm after crossing the Equator, and eventually it wrecks. All the sailors on board fails to survive but luckily, he manages to swim towards the nearest land. Yay! But hold on, that’s not the end of his troubles. A man, alone on a massive island is still vulnerable to death, by animals and hunger and much more. But he manages to survive, and eventually starts a life like king of the island. He makes everything for himself, from home to farms and even furniture. But always hopes to go back to his own country. Some year later, he finds a footprint of a human on one of the shores, which terrifies him. And yes, it was terrifying, since it was of … cannibals! Yes, there were people there who ate other people. It scares him to death. But he manages to survive even that. And surprisingly, he rescues one of the men from the cannibals and makes him a friend, called “Friday”. Friday soon learns to behave and speaks like him, and becomes very loyal to him.

Yup, God was on his side that a few years later, a ship arrives that is land, yeah an English ship. But the men in the ship are cruel, more like gangsters who hold the captain and his men captive. Yet, Robin and Friday manages to rescue the men discreetly and then, together, they defeat the other men and take over. The captain becomes his loyal friend and tells him that he’s ready to take him anywhere. This made him cry with joy, because he had spent 27 horrible years on that island. And with his loyal servant Friday, he leaves the island finally.

The story overall is very interesting, focusing mainly on “survival”.
