ANP leader Asfandyar Wali Khan has openly criticized the government’s decision to impose a ban on the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), describing it as irrational and driven by emotions. In a statement, Khan expressed his dismay over the move, arguing that decisions made on emotional grounds do not lead to productive outcomes. He pointed out the long-term detrimental effects of similar emotional choices in the past, whose repercussions are still evident in today’s political landscape.

Khan emphasized the necessity of controlling personal desires and emotions in politics, asserting that learning from past mistakes is crucial for the development and strengthening of democracy. He stated that the Awami National Party (ANP) has faced similar restrictions and described the government’s decision as undemocratic, warning that it could promote non-political agendas.

Moreover, Khan insisted on genuine accountability for those responsible for creating artificial political forces, urging the government to adopt more rational and considered approaches to political decisions. His remarks highlight the need for a measured and thoughtful political environment, where actions are based on logic and long-term benefits rather than short-term emotional reactions.
