An Islamabad district and sessions court has issued an arrest warrant for former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur after he failed to appear before the court in a case involving the recovery of alcohol and firearms.

The case was heard by Judicial Magistrate Mubashir Hassan Chishti, who expressed displeasure over Gandapur’s repeated absence. Despite being summoned, neither Gandapur nor his lawyer Raja Zahoor-ul-Hassan attended the hearing.

As a result, the court issued an arrest warrant and directed the concerned authorities to arrest and produce Gandapur before the court. The next hearing has been scheduled for November 11.

The case against the former CM was registered at Bara Kahu Police Station in Islamabad, relating to the alleged recovery of liquor and weapons from his vehicle during a previous police operation.

This development marks another legal challenge for the former chief minister amid ongoing investigations and political tensions in the region.
