DG ISPR Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif has stated that the Pakistan Army has no interest in taking innocent lives in the name of counter-terrorism. He emphasized that any citizen who shelters terrorists or stores explosives will face consequences, but collective punishment for entire villages or regions is not an option.

Speaking at a special session with students under ISPR’s internship program, he said that the people of Balochistan are wise and forward-looking, and they are now themselves pointing out terrorists and their facilitators. He highlighted that intelligence-based operations can only succeed with the cooperation of the local population.

He further said that educated Baloch youth, such as scientist Samad Yar Jang and Shahzaib Rind, along with female officers serving as Deputy Commissioners, are shaping their own destiny.

The DG ISPR reiterated that Pakistan was founded on the basis of the Kalima, and no Arab, non-Arab, white, or black holds superiority over the other. He stressed the importance of national unity and standing together against terrorism and its enablers.
