Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Monday issued a strong warning to illegal Afghan nationals residing in Pakistan, stating that they are “no longer guests” and must return to their homeland. Speaking to the media, the minister made it clear that the government would ensure the deportation of all illegal Afghan migrants “under all circumstances.”

Naqvi linked recent terror incidents to Afghan nationals, claiming that “Afghans are involved in all attacks happening in the country.” He revealed that three of the attackers involved in the assault on the Frontier Corps (FC) Headquarters were Afghan nationals. Similarly, the individual responsible for the attack at the Islamabad district court was also an Afghan.

The interior minister said the nationwide process of deporting illegal Afghans was progressing successfully. “We must ensure that every illegal Afghan migrant is sent back. The federal government’s decisions will be implemented without compromise. Pakistan cannot afford more explosions,” he emphasized.

He urged illegal Afghan residents to return voluntarily and respectfully. “If someone is deported and then returns illegally, they will be arrested and punished. We are also dismantling Afghan camps in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” Naqvi added.

He further stated that Pakistan knows “exactly who is behind terrorism” and called on the Afghan Taliban government to control the militants.

The interior minister also expressed concern over misinformation on social media, claiming that “90% of the news circulating online is false.” He announced a strict crackdown on fake news and defamatory content.

“It cannot be allowed that anyone posts anything they want. Those spreading false information are not journalists,” Naqvi said. He added that if national media outlets broadcast incorrect news, they face PEMRA notices and fines—similar rules would now be enforced on social media.

Naqvi warned individuals living abroad who spread misinformation, stating: “Let me tell those sitting in London—you will be returning soon. You will be brought back and made to answer.”

He concluded that the government would not tolerate any compromise on national security and that penalties against fake news spreaders would be enforced without exception.
