PTI Leader Allegedly Abducted Amid Political Turmoil Over Supreme Court Ruling
Political tension heightened in Jhang as PTI leaders alleged that their party member Sultan, elected from NA-110, was abducted by unknown assailants traveling in two vehicles. The incident occurred shortly after a recent Supreme Court ruling concerning reserved seats, stirring controversy and raising concerns over political stability and law enforcement in Pakistan.
Contrary to PTI’s claims, local police officials denied any involvement in Sultan’s alleged abduction and stated that no formal complaints had been lodged regarding the incident. Zeeshan, a police spokesperson, clarified that while PTI was preparing a complaint, it had not yet been formally submitted.
PTI leadership, including Asad Qaisar, expressed dismay over the incident, questioning the integrity of the country’s political landscape where elected officials’ loyalties are seemingly challenged through such actions. Asad Qaisar criticized the prevailing law and order situation, emphasizing a lack of respect for judicial decisions and accusing the government of resorting to coercive measures to manage national affairs.
The abduction of Sultan, if confirmed, underscores growing tensions within Pakistan’s political arena and raises significant concerns about the safety and security of elected representatives. PTI leaders vowed to pursue legal avenues and called for immediate action from law enforcement to locate Sultan and ensure his safety.
