Rameez Raja Claims Babar Azam Was Behind the Pitch Preparation for Australia Series

Former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Rameez Raja has made a startling revelation, claiming that the pitch for the Pakistan-Australia Test series was prepared based on Babar Azam’s instructions. In an interview, Raja shared that he always prioritized the captain’s strategy when it came to pitch preparation and player selection.

Rameez Raja explained that as captain, Babar Azam was given full authority to design his game plan and make decisions accordingly, especially for the first Test match against Australia. Raja added that not understanding the nature of the pitch can lead to unfavorable outcomes, which is something Pakistan is currently struggling with, particularly in home series losses.

Raja further emphasized that pitches that do not respond to the talent available in the team can be detrimental, a factor that has played a role in Pakistan’s recent challenges in home-ground defeats.
